I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Kohl's (Menomonee Falls, WI) in Mar 2019
Interview
I had a connection at Kohl's who sent my resume to HR. I then received an email from HR offering me an interview. There was a link included that sent me to a digital interview using HireVue. You are able to practise with some questions so that you can adjust your lighting, speaking volume, and get familiar with the interview process. The interview had pre-recorded questions from recruiters so you were not talking to anyone from Kohl's live. I don't remember the exact number of questions but you had seconds to think of answer of hearing the question and then I believe a minute or more to respond. I was not confident as I tripped up on one of my questions but I was offered to interview at headquarters. They offer to fly you out and back home no charge if you live within 5 hours away. If you are from a different state other than Wisconsin they set you up at a hotel. If you have a car you are expected to drive to the interview but if you flew in there is a bus that will take you to your interview. Hotel and flights are all paid for. The night before the interview they take all candidates to dinner so you can network and socialize. The morning of your interview you need to check out of the hotel. They provide you with breakfast and lunch while you are there. You will get a tour of the headquarters, interview with 3 buyers at different levels for 20 minutes each, and then have a group interview with members you were seated with at dinner. You will have 10 minutes to figure your case study, 5 minutes to present it, and 5 minutes for a Q&A. They are looking for your ability to act as both a leader and team player.
I applied online. I interviewed at Kohl's (Milwaukee, WI)
Interview
Two day event. Multiple interviews in round robin style, Interviews were with different managers as well as recruiters. Dinner at night with recruiters. Second day was a presentation of benefits and company culture.
Simple process with good support from HR! Typical questions around who you are, why you're here, why they should hire you and more. Behavioral questions as well to understand how you may respond or react in a certain situation based on your past experience.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Kohl's
Interview
It was a good experience overall. I was interviewed by two different people on the same day. The women I interviewed with were merchandise analysts within the company. It's good to be prepared and having experience with data/spreadsheets/basic retail math is very helpful.
