I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kreischer Miller in Nov 2016
Interview
Everyone I met with was down to earth and easy to talk to, which caused the meetings to flow more like discussions than being grilled with question after question. Most of the questions seem to be directed towards figuring out if you would like working there. They put a big emphasis on looking for candidates that they believe will enjoy their time working with the firm. I really liked this because ensuring that you are the right “fit” works out better for everybody. But it wasn’t like other interviews where the questions feel as though they're asking you to prove you would be a good fit. It all felt like a casual conversation to see what was best for everybody.

Question 1
What is something that you excel at and what is a quality/habit that you are looking to improve upon?
I applied directly online through KM's website. The Talent Acquisition Director reached out to me the next day and we agreed to meet in person as it was my preference. The interview was really human and not technical. A few days later we agreed to meet again for two other interviews, one with a Senior Auditor and the second with a Director of the firm. Both interviews were great. I did not feel being judged. Both employees who interviewed me were really professional and brought the questions elegantly without making me feel uncomfortable. I had the opportunity to express myself and ask my own questions. A few days later, I received a job offer.

Question 1
How would I react in certain situations?
What are my past experiences/tasks?
I submitted my resume to the company careers site. After I filled out the online application form and hit the 'submit' button, I immediately returned to my application dashboard, however my application status changed to 'Not Selected' at almost the same time. I'm 99% confident it was because I answered 'Yes' to the question 'Will you now or in the future require employment visa sponsorship?' in the online application. So be cautious International students, your time could be better used elsewhere.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback!
Unfortunately, many companies, including Kreischer Miller, are unable to offer sponsorship to international students for full time positions. We do offer internships to international students however, in order to help them gain work experience. We will continue to assess our policies in relation to availability of candidates in the marketplace. We wish you the best of luck in your job search.
