I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kroger (Flint, MI) in Mar 2014
Interview
I was asked to meet in an office that overlooks the entire store. Talked with the manager that spent the most time on the front line. She was a very friendly lady that felt weary about hiring me due to my expertise in computer technology. Despite that she heard me out and gave me a chance. The entire interview felt more like talking with a new friend than an interview. Not the stuffy sort of interview you normally get where you have to somehow convince the interviewer that this ordinary job is your dream job. She didn't seem to have any such expectation, just the best interest of Kroger and myself. I have never felt as comfortable at an interview as I did that day.

Interview
The job interview was really simple and straightforward. The employer asked me a couple of personal questions and my past experiences. It was during my high school years and I didn’t have much experience.
