Semi-formal. Sat down with the owner and then observed the class flow as well as viewing charts on what each grade level entails. Opportunity for hands-on training. Very natural conversation.

I met with the manager, and they asked me about my previous experience of teaching or working with Kumon. They ask about their vision/mission statement. It's really casual because though it's a big company, each location has only one manager.
You need proof of residence and ID, and must take a timed test covering basic 5th-grade math skills. It's straightforward but requires quick thinking and accurate calculation. I don't recall taking an English test version but they were nice.
