I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LaunchDarkly (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2021
Interview
Thorough set of skills tests to gauge aptitude as a home work exercise followed by a number of interviews with various members of staff there, from diverse teams. A challenging process but worthwhile. Lauren at Trust in Soda guided me through the process and was very helpful in facilitating everything that was needed to get me through to interview.
My Interviewers were exemplars of what their company website blurb states, and whilst the home-working exercise to judge my techncial skills was somewhat lacking (entirely on my side, may I say), their attentiveness and work ethics ensured that the whole process wasn't a total loss for everyone. Even though I didn't wind up gettting the role, the process was hugely enjoyable and I felt that if I had been offered an opportunity, I would have fitted in there.
Good Luck on getting the right candidate for the role!

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LaunchDarkly in May 2024
Interview
Stage 1 - 30 minute call with recruiter.
Stage 2 - 30 minute call with hiring manager to discuss background and skillset.
Stage 3 - Take home challenge, took roughly 2-4 hours to complete with an extra hour for quality checking. They ask you to integrate a LaunchDarkly feature with an external software and provide a mock customer response outlining the solution.
Stage 4 - 3 hours of panel interviews with 4 different topics: manager intro, homework review and growth/coachability, technical assessment, culture and values.
I was told I did well in all my interviews however an offer was made to someone else. I can confidently conclude it was a well planned interview process and I felt everyone I interviewed with valued my presence and asked great questions to truly find the suitable candidate. I never felt like I wasn't being taken seriously and did not feel discriminated for my age unlike in interviews at other companies in the past.
A few days after the rejection I received an email stating they were impressed with my candidacy and I was invited to a private vetted job platform used by their VC investor with a positive referral. Which is something I have never seen before and seems like a valuable addition to my job search so I am very appreciative of the referral.
I would happily interview at LaunchDarkly again in the future.
