Lawrence Berkeley Lab Postdoctoral Scholar interview questions

While I solidly satisfied every single one of the required and additional desired qualifications in the job posting (the weakest point being in "Excellent written and oral communication skills" -- mine are good but I wouldn't say they're excellent), and although I polished my application for many days before submitting it, I did not even get a phone call. About a month after my application, I received an email informing me that the position was closed. I think that LBL generally has a large number of applicants for any position, which may be the reason why they chose Taleo as their applicant tracking system (ATS), but in case of this job post, they were casting a particularly wide net. The reason I am posting this is that one can assume that at least they will get a telephonic interview if they strongly satisfy the posted job requirements. However, it turns out that LBL may be very selective at this point of application process already, and my advice would be to keep applying for other jobs at the same time.
