I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in May 2021
Interview
The interview process happened over WebEx in March. I interviewed for a number of different positions.
Some positions required a formal presentation of your research, others didn't. All of them included a panel interview to speak with the other people working on that project. The presentation and panel interviews lasted roughly 6 hours

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (Livermore, CA) in Jun 2013
Interview
Long and twisted. Multiple interviews across many business groups. Scripted questions and repeated questions from obviously bored interview members. No negotiations possible. Salary and benefits locked into a monolithic pay structure that does not recognize individual performance or accomplishments.
