      Business Analyst Interview

      Mar 2, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Livermore, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (Livermore, CA) in Jan 2016

      Interview

Had to be the WORST experience ever. I got scheduled an in person interview 6 weeks out. 6 weeks came and I go into the badge booth and my recruiter didn't even enter my name into the system to get a badge. I had to wait for her to file the request to the badging department for them to print it. Next, i was told someone was going to escort me from the badging office to the interview building. 15 mins before my interview time i get a little concerned that i will be late. I email her, no response. I talked to the badging office guy and he reaches out to the recruiter and said, oh sorry, 5 more mins, someone's coming. 10 mins later, still nothing, i get even more anxious that im going to be late to my interview. I email again. the recruiter calls in and tells me to just drive into the campus myself and find the building. I grab the map the badging office gave me and headed towards the building. Of course the campus is so big I had to quickly find my way. Found the building i was told to go, but it was just a building, no signs or anything on where to go. At this point I was completely lost and didn't know what to do. I call my recruiter, and no answer. I headed out of the building and walked towards my car attempting to go to the badging office to find out what happen. I saw another building nearby so i said what they hey, lets try this building. there my recruiter was, standing at the door. She could have obviously saw me lost outside the building but she didn't even bother coming out to look for me, or stand in the corridor to wait. Had a board interview with 4 other people, left the interview. I was told that i would be given notice and updates within a week. A week flies by nothing. I emailed the recruiter and of course she's on her day off (every other Friday they are off i guess?) She rudely says, we will email you if we have any updates, i didn't email you because there was no updates. A month flies by from my interview day and still nothing. I finally said, i'll email one last time and thats it. Still no response. 2 more weeks fly by and I finally get are response that I didn't proceed onto the next step. The whole process from the moment i got contacted via email to my final response took 12 weeks!!! THATS RIDICULOUS!! This is how inefficient our government is and how wasteful of money they are! Nothing gets done in a timely matter. 12 weeks is just unacceptable and the poor communication..

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (Livermore, CA)

      Interview

First interview by phone with HR recruiter. Second interview a panel of 5. They gave me 3 topics to give a 15 minute presentation on my choice. It was a 1 hour interview. The remaining 45 minutes were the panel of 5 asking questions about previous work I had done, why I wanted to work there, etc. People were nice and helpful. The Lab is 1 square mile of buildings that previously was a military base. Some of the buildings are old barracks converted to offices. Most of the buildings are 40-60 years old. Some have been remodeled to a small degree but there is little money for nice buildings when funding is intended for science. In many of the older buildings the HVAC is unbalanced – some offices freeze while others overheat. They have taxis and electric and regular cars that you can check out to go to meetings in buildings on the other side of the campus. Bicycles are all over and can be used by whoever picks it up to ride around. Somewhat of an entitlement work culture. Many employees have been there 20+ years.
