It was a waste of time. They were hiring for some new initiative and now I see that their planning and resource management wasn't fully thought out. They invited me to their headquarters but they didn't even bother getting back to me on if I got the role. When someone makes it to the final stage of an interview and takes 5 hours out of their day to interview with you, it's just common courtesy to let the person know what happened. If a company ghosts you like this after an in-person interview, it's a clear sign that their HR is highly disorganized. The people I met all seemed friendly and competent, but I believe there's some internal chaos here with different groups vying for resources. I see that they recently re-posted the job again, so hopefully, they've finally figured out who they want to hire and won't waste anyone else's time.
Also, I spoke to a friend who also interviewed with them for a senior role (that was not for a designer), and she too was ghosted. Looking at other interview reviews here, I now guess it's common practice at LegalZoom, across teams? That tells me their issues lie in the HR department. So hopefully their HR will add some new initiatives to get their act together and stop leaving such a bad impression on people.
