      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Leidos (Frederick, MD) in Mar 2018

      Interview

Filled out a questionnaire with general questions about your experience, salary requirements, etc. Interviewed 2 weeks later in a panel-like setup separately with hiring managers and employees in different shifts. Took a month only to find out they were bringing in MORE candidates for the same job, then another two weeks to find out they were interested in pursuing "other" candidates. Adept at wasting time, government-funded, elitist organization... need I say any more?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Leidos (Frederick, MD) in Jan 2019

      Interview

This was about a month process (maybe a little bit more) . I applied for the position in December 2019, then got a email from the hiring manager asking for a phone interview a day later. The hiring manager was super nice...then 2 weeks later, I got a call asking for an on-site interview, and we scheduled it 2 weeks later. The interview was pretty decent. They asked relevant questions such as experience, and went through the details of my resume. I was able to meet other QC Microbiologists...but they didn't seem too enthusiast about the position, which was a huge red flag to me. Even though they were working there, they seemed like they hated that position. I asked about what was a typical day of work like and they would replied with very bland answers. A total red flag. Two weeks after the interview, they still made no decision. Therefore, I decided to accept another job offer from a different company. Although the people were "nice," the hiring process is too slow. They never gave updates or didn't even send out emails...and would blame of the slow process because of the holidays...well it's currently the end of January so its definitely not a holiday. If this is how the Frederick National Laboratory functions, then they are in big trouble. The fact that they can't send out a update email regarding the timeline is just disrespectful. To those seeking a job: I would recommend applying to companies who would immediately send updates after your on-site interview (basically everywhere except for Frederick National Laboratory). I've been interviewing at LOTS of companies and all of them (except for Frederick National Laboratory) sent me updates on the hiring process, and how much longer it will take. A slow hiring process, like Frederick National Laboratory, is a HUGE red flag! PLEASE AVOID!!!!
