      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lennar in Dec 2023

      Interview

applied, recruiter emailed me saying "i have reviewed your resume and we would love to set up an interview" so i set up an interview, Got 2 minutes into telling her about myself ( i am a senior in college) and she stopped me to ask when i graduate. it is fall and i don't graduate till the upcoming spring, which was clearly on my resume, and she said they are only looking to hire someone who can start in the next 30 days. Clearly she never actually looked at my resume before the interview and now it was a waste of both of our times.

      Marketing Coordinator Interview

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Antonio, TX
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lennar (San Antonio, TX) in Aug 2023

      Interview

2 rounds of interviews with the local office's marketing supervisors. First on Zoom, and second in the office. The marketing supervisors were prepared, timely, and I enjoyed learning more about the company and role from them. I liked how they portrayed their teamwork to be. Pay: Didn't provide a pay range in the interview process. In 2nd round, I asked how compensation works, including the process for pay raises. They said for hiring, corporate HR would review the individual's qualifications and market comps for the position and that's how they'd determine pay. Upon being called for the 1st interview, they wanted me to fill out an official application through their system. In this, they requested preferred pay, which I said was $58,000. In the 2nd round, they happened to ask what my current compensation was and I said $55,000. I was offered the position at $50,000. I asked if there was flexibility in that salary and they said "this is an entry-level role, the pay is set." They called me around 4:30pm on Wednesday with the offer and wanted a response by the following day at noon. I declined. They reposted the position. Salary transparency in the job posting would have saved us all time. Additional Interview Details: In 2nd round, they walked me back straight to a laptop with Canva pulled up and said "make us a social media post using this info and we'll be back in a few minutes to discuss." I haven't participated in an interview where I'm tested on the spot, so I was a little panicked. I was also surprised because I had provided them with portfolio work. I created my social media post and we discussed my reasoning behind my choices. Then proceeded with the interview.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked my role in planning marketing efforts (like email campaigns), my role in event planning positions I've had, my experience with social media posts, if I would be okay traveling, and that they had a lot of good applicants, so why should they hire me?
