      Senior Global Commodity Manager Interview

      Apr 11, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Leviton (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

Lengthy process , I have been through 4 rounds, first with HR basic, 2nd with hiring manager ,and 3rd and 4th with the manager of hiring manager. It was legit because for any key position they want to make sure to chose the right candidate. Hiring manager asked many questions and explained me about role, then he forwarded me for the next round to VP, which sounds like it was prepared. I was randomly presented to him(Here I don’t want to say that a VP needs to prepare himself for a candidate but it sounded a bit awkward to me, because He wasn’t sure what position he was interviewing for). A few days later I heard from HR that VP wants another round because it was short time, I appeared for the next round. It went well, but silence for 2 -3 week, I followed up with email to HR, No answer, till date no response ! I have no difficulty to accept that I may not be the right candidate but HR, hiring manager and VP spent time (twice ) to evaluate and no response at all ? I don’t know how many other candidates they might have evaluated in the same way, it shows a kind of inefficiency of their hiring process. It is easy to believe that they may have a loose system in place for procurement and other functions as well in the org. Such privately held organizations hardly care about it, Their brand name and job description was interesting to me but then I lost interest and stopped searching more about Leviton , I thought this place is not for me. After 2 months from last interview, I saw today that this position is still open. Good luck for hiring :)

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Not much about the job specific, market and commodity specific. (Which I was expecting for this role ). My interview went mostly around my experience, what are the major cost reduction activities I handled ? What value I personally added and how many dollars I saved? etc etc.
