Liberty Assistant Buyer interview questions

I applied for the role and received an email back the same day. So far so good. The recruiter organised an initial phone interview for later that week which went well, or so I thought. My asking salary was above what was being offered, but I was told that because of all my relevant experience that they might be able to improve and that they would check. I never heard back, even after chasing and this was now weeks ago. Disappointing considering the £3k difference.
