Interview
Multiple rounds slowly got worse last one made me leave the job offer on the table. 1st round - standard 20 questions with their own recruiter who was friendly had previously been in the Claims role but it wasn't a fit for them because they don't have " that level of stamina". Dodge some semi hard questions digging into that, about company culture, and burnout as that's high in this industry. Not too many red flags but lots of caution lights. 2nd interview - scheduling seemed to be an issue for the 3 people that needed to be there. Took a while to find a date and time that worked for everyone. Only to have that date cancelled and rebooked at 2am for the same day but 5 hours ahead of schedule without checking with me that I was available. Also the duration for that interview was extended from 30 minutes to 2 hours with no warning. I felt my time was being disrespected and cancelled the interview informed them I will only move forward if they respect my time they way they want me to respect there's. 2nd interview does happen a week later. Red flags galore. The recruiter showed up on time, well rested, very well off, and happy to be there. The other person was in a managerial role for the position I was interviewing for. They were late by 30 minutes, looked like they hadn't slept or relaxed in years, explained that this is the hardest but "most rewarding job ever" because you are helping people but not fun compensation. Yikes. The last straw. 3rd round - 3 different people where supposed to attend. I joined the call early. Waited. And waited. Contacted recruiter. Nothing. The 2 hour appointment I wait, hear nothing, checked everything to make sure I didn't mess up timezones or something. Nope. They didn't show. 15 minutes before the 2 hours is up someone joins. Points blame at the recruiter for "scheduling this so oddly we don't normally do it at these times...". I stated " I have nothing to do with that, I was here on time for our confirmed appointment. Not my responsibility that this wasn't a normal slot" They realized I was frustrated and tried to have some casual banter. In that banter where so many red flags. Talked about how they worked there for over 10 years and still can't afford to do anything fun. Very strange responses when I asked about how the company manages employee burnout. The answer was a polite but coded way of saying "it's up to you to take care of yourself and handle what we give you most people do work 60 + hours to get it all done " The conversation around the pay structure was very carrot and stick. It was clear to me that they will promise all kinds of raises and bonuses but when poked about the metrics for that are established and measured the response was "oh we'd cover that in training". Asking why not now? Got the conversation shifted to a different "perk" of the job. I had seen enough. Disrespectful of for my time, lack of transparency around foundational questions like compensation and staff retention, poor professionalism. Not my cup of tea. They gave me on offer a week later and I declined. Not a good fit for me.

Tell me how you manage your desktop during high volume
HR made a very quick call, it only lasted a few minutes. They mainly asked about my previous experience and went through a few basic checklist questions, like confirming my eligibility and availability. It felt more like a preliminary screening rather than a full interview.

Interview
Initial phone screening interview, before an interview with the hiring manager. There is some email correspondence before the phone screening, and you can choose a time slot that works for you. I was told I would be contacted "One way or another" within two business days. I sent two emails, one on the third day, and one on the ninth day, as they did not get back to me at all. The job dashboard is not easy to access, though I did fumble through the website to find it, and later on the 9th day, I saw that they had moved me to a status that indicated I was not being chosen. I have still not received a courtesy email, or automated email indicating that change. While I do expect that sort of poor communication from employers these days, they did specifically state that they would reach out to me, whether I was getting a second interview or not. I check my inbox, and spam box regularly.
