I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at LinkedIn (Dublin, Dublin) in Jan 2015
Interview
1st contact: a contact introduced me to someone in HR, who I personally meet, and he kindly assessed the role more ad hoc for my profile, and introduced me via e-mail to the related recruiter.
3 days later:
-1st. interview: by phone, HR asked some questions on my experience (30 mins).
7 days later:
-2nd interview: by phone, the potential manager asked behavioral questions and concrete examples from my job experience (45 mins).
2 months later (once they confirmed that the position was open).
-3rd. interview: I went to Dublin and had an interview with an analyst, the manager, and the head of sales operations. The technical part (excel) could not be properly done as the computer they gave me didn't work, so I had to explain the formulas to use and the way I would manipulate the data.
This 3rd. interview was very well organised by HR in terms of indicating me the agenda's details and arranging the flights & taxis, even though that the time window between the flight's arrival/departure flights was really short.
Until here, everything seemed to be ok... but I did not receive any follow-up message. Until I sent the 3rd message (more than 3 weeks after flying to Dublin) HR e-mailed me back informing me I was not selected as they found someone more experienced, and inviting me to keep in touch for other opportunities and to give them a call for more feedback details. I tried calling them, but my HR contact was not reachable...
The fact that I had to insist so much for an update was discouraging.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Which of the projects you've worked on had a commercial impact?
From a compensation perspective, how would you handle aligning a customer from sales executive A to B
if -in the meanwhile- it churns? How would you remain fair to sales?
How do you conciliate the business plan requirements vs your forecast?
Why do you want to work for us?
Excel test, case study over phone, Several rounds in person, then a follow up once more in person. Thorough, but moved reasonably quick to provide feedback. Good contact with the recruiter throughout
I applied online. I interviewed at LinkedIn (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2021
Interview
The first round was a phone call with the recruiter (~30 min).
After that was a SQL/Excel take home test (45 min).
Then, it was an interview with the hiring manager (45 min), mainly behavioral and 2 case study questions.
After I went through the hiring manager interview, I was simply ghosted. No message regarding next steps, or any rejection message. I have followed up with both the recruiter and the hiring manager, however no response. I was pretty disappointed about how the end of the interview process played out.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a project you were involved in.
What does strategic planning mean to you? Why Sales Ops?
What motivates you?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LinkedIn (New York, NY) in Mar 2020
Interview
Applied through LinkedIn. Received contact from recruiter for 30 minute call. All behavioral questions.
Next step was online technical Excel and SQL test. I had one hour to complete. It was not live (somebody did not watch you while you did it). Was not too difficult if you are used to using pivot tables and can run simple SQL queries.
Then had video call with hiring manager. All behavioral.
Final step was on-site with 4 people. 3 behavioral and one case. Case was not a typical consulting case and was more like brainstorming.
Received a call two days later that I did not get the position. I felt the rejection reason was a bit weak considering I passed in all other areas and they knew my background before going through all the rounds. Maybe the other candidate was just better.
