Had two calls total, one screener and one standard. A few red flags came up during the process. On the screener call, I didn't get much of an opportunity to ask my own questions because the recruiter spent a significant portion of the time talking about how much they love Lovesac, leaving little time for anything else. It was a bit of a hard sell about the culture but I was still interested in the role. They then mentioned that the role was posted months before they were ready to hire anyone because they wanted to "see what was out there". Posting a job months before you're ready to hire without specifying the intended hire date seems disingenuous and cruel, considering most people applying to jobs do so because they need them, not for the fun of it. After the initial screener call, I had a call with the hiring manager, which seemed to go well. However, after not hearing back, I followed up asking for an update and was told I would get one that week. The week came and went and still no update. I had to follow up 3 times total before I got an update, which came as a voicemail asking me to call them back. When I called, they indicated they went with someone else with more experience. A simple email a few days after the second interview saying they're moving forward with someone else with more experience would have been more efficient and timely. The entire process from when I applied to when an interview was scheduled was 3 months.
