I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Mooresville, NC) in Mar 2012
Interview
Applied for the job and almost immediately got a call back. Was through a recruiter so I never spoke with the actual manager until the face-to-face interview. I was sent over via email a "test" to see if I was competent enough. It simply was to put together a page with some scripts and CSS. Overall got much positive feedback from the first interview but they had closed the position due to budgeting issues. Got a call a few months later and went in for a 2nd interview. Again got positive reviews and it came down to me and one more person, they went with the one who had a tad more experience as I expected they would.

Then, they canceled one round just 5 minutes before it was supposed to begin. Another round was rescheduled with a different interviewer. Some of the questions were about backend technologies, giving the impression that either the person didn't know it was a Frontend interview or wanted to show that I lacked knowledge. Also, he presented an algorithm problem for which there were only 5 minutes left. I barely had time to think. The third round went smoothly and on time, with the interviewer being friendly and welcoming, and all questions were on topic.
Another thing I didn't like was that none of the interviewers turned on their cameras. It was very uncomfortable.

Interview
Contacted by recruiter through email. There was a screening interview over phone with the recruiter and a written technical assessment to apply. Several days later, a 30 minute Skype technical interview with manager and senior developers, then a week after that, a 90 minute on-site interview with manager and team lead. Technical questions were of moderate difficulty, behavioral questions were the usual standards. Had an offer in hand the day of the onsite, but Lowes took close to a month to process the paperwork needed to actually start.
