I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement in May 2010
Interview
I applied online and was contacted about a week later and had a phone interview. After that they scheduled me an interview with the HR manager, Store manager, and Regional manager. They hired me then and the drug test was performed in the office (cheek swab) and said theyd let me know when the results came back. Results came back the next day and they scheduled an orientation/training for the next week. That orientation ended up being canceled and they said theyd call me when a new one was scheduled. about three weeks went by until they finally scheduled a new one. Didn't get trained anything in training and it only took one day.

Interview
It starts with an online application, sometimes followed by a short 15–20 minute phone or video screen where a recruiter checks your availability, experience and communication skills. After that, you’ll have an in-person interview with the hiring manager covering customer service, teamwork and basic job capabilities, with questions like how you’d handle a price dispute or a short register drawer.
