I showed up for the interview and was instructed to the back of the store I was put in a office to wait on a manager. The manager came in and asked what I was looking for. I explained that I already had a full-time Monday through Friday job and I was just needing weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday preferably in the daytime that I couldn’t work evenings on the Sunday night because I have my child. I did ask her if that was something that she thought that they would be able to work with me on before I even started the interview process and she stated that she did think that they could work with that. She went over what departments that were available and asked me if any of those would interest me. I said yes and chose my department. She wanted to make sure that I could lift a lawnmower or an air compressor on a daily basis with help from another associate I told her I was OK with that. She then started reading through my paperwork which only had my name and my availability on it. That’s all I was asked to fill out. After looking at my paperwork and the hours I had wrote down she immediately tells me that she can’t work with my hours and she don’t think Lowe’s would be a good fit for me because she can’t work with the hours that I’m needing even though we just discussed the hours that I am needing and she told me that she could work with that and that she didn’t see that before we started. I proceeded to tell her that’s why I asked her about the hours before we even started the interview I felt like she was very rude and was sizing me up the whole time I was in there it was just a very bad experience. I currently work with the public in the mortgage industry and have worked with the public in customer service roles for 30 years. I took time out of my day on the Fourth of July day for this interview and chose Lowe’s to work my second job just for some extra money thinking that would be somewhere I would enjoy working and Heather the manager ruined the whole experience for me.
