      Sales Leadership Development Program Interview

      Nov 12, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Coopersburg, PA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics (Coopersburg, PA) in Oct 2016

      Interview

I attended the career fair at my school and submitted online applications to multiple roles. After a week or so, they replied and asked me to submit a more detailed application form for the sales role. I did, then got a phone interview. It was pretty much chatting with the the manager and he asked me to recommend my university to him. It went pretty well. Then, it was the personality test, to see if you are fit for a sales role. Passed that as well. Then, they scheduled me for a final interview at their headquarters in PA. It was very nice of them to arrange everything, car, hotel for the trip. The final interview consisted of a company tour, a sales presentation, a "role play" exercise and a series of interviews. It was a full day. They told me, I have to pass every single interview in order to get an offer, if just one person doesn't like me, then I'm out. Everything went well until I had an interview with a director or VP, he didn't think I am a good fit and all the interviews afterward got canceled. I was also told, they interview more than 70 people (final round) for 15 positions. You really have to show you have all the right skills and passion for a sales role.

      Interview

First interview went great. Second lady called me and was extremely rude and unprofessional. Didn't even ask me questions about myself or my experience. Wrote me off immediately, despite having raving reviews from the first interview.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics in Feb 2023

      Interview

Do not even waste your time with Lutron. I had a 4 hour interview, and I had to reach out for them to tell me no in an automated response. I asked for feedback and they sent me a link from indeed "10 interviewing tips". After meeting with 8 people you would think they would have notes to share. This is crummy business practice and the company was disrespectful after I put in a few hours preparing.

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics

      Interview

My experience visiting the company was amazing! I had already interviewed for the SLDP role virtually and received an offer. As a courtesy, the company flew me out to give me a tour of the sales team and the engineering testing lab. Everybody was extremely nice and I got to learn the ins and outs of most of the products. They were able to answer everything from intricate engineering design questions to what the sales engineer role entails and the type of customers they support. I left feeling very positive about this company.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The company simulates a scenario where you are expected to think on your feet.
