The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics (Coopersburg, PA) in May 2012

      Interview

Initial contact was via e-mail, with a phone interview following. The phone interview was mostly technical in nature and included questions as to the shipment times from China to the US, why I thought Lutron bases its manufacturing in certain regions of the world, and what I thought the advantages of those locations are in reference to Lutron's operations. The interviewer stated these questions were designed to analyze my thought processes more than to look for correct responses. I was told I would hear from them within two weeks, then got an invitation the next day for an on-site interview. The in-person interviews consisted of two person panels. The day of interviewing was not organized well, and I spent more time waiting around than I did actually interviewing. The interviewers apologized for the amount of time spent waiting. The interviews, like the phone interview were solely technical in nature and focused on my understanding of the innovation and production process that Lutron uses in its operations. Again, the stated goal was to check on thought processes. I enjoyed the interviews, it was interesting discussing supply chain processes with the Lutron representatives and they were very congenial and made it a two way discussion rather than just me answering questions. However, I had the feeling from early on in the day that they were not interested and that the interviews were being conducted only because they had already brought me in to Coopersburg. It was almost as if they had lost interest in filling the position, or had already filled it. I received an e-mail notifying me of Lutron's lack of interest in me as a candidate about a week after the interview.

      Question 1

Manufacturing steps from product concept all the way through the supply chain to customer delivery were presented and I was asked to place them in the correct order, while explaining my thought process.

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics (Lehigh Valley, PA)

      Interview

I had a phone interview with Lutron first after which I was called to their headquarters in Lehigh Valley, PA. The interview was scheduled to be for 5 hours. There was one more person interviewing with me and after getting there I found out that they had asked the other person to prepare a presentation however they hadn't asked me to do that. There were two people who came to interview me after which they sent another person to take me to lunch and show me around their headquarters. I was told that the interview was over after that and the other person was still being interviewed. I knew I wasn't gonna get it because the driver, on the way there, had told me that the person they keep till the end usually gets it.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked me to organize a bunch of processes in manufacturing in the order in which they would occur.
