      Supply Chain Specialist Interview

      Mar 6, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Lehigh Valley, PA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics (Lehigh Valley, PA) in Jan 2014

      Interview

I was contacted via HR to do a 1-hour phone interview. Do not take this lightly, it is a very technical interview to gauge your knowledge and preparedness. After passing that test, I went on-site from 8AM-1PM. I had 3 separate hour-long interviews. The first one did not make much sense for the particular role as it was an Engineering interview. Predictably, I bombed it, having applied to a Supply Chain position. At that point I was a bit rattled and knew it was an uphill battle from there. Questions ranged from, "take this thing apart" with a screwdriver to "optimize the manufacturing model" (which was more up my alley). One of the interviewers was oddly disinterested in anything I had to say. Definitely was boring him or wasting his time. The second interview was more supply chain-focused but also very tricky and technical. A scenario was given about sourcing products from China and the US, and then there were plenty of follow-up questions around transportation and forecasting. One thing I will say is that they treat their guests very well. They put me up in a hotel and served me lunch. They also comped my miles. They were very professional from an HR stand-point throughout the process.

      Application

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics in Feb 2024

      Interview

First interview started with a 1 hour technical first round right of the bat testing industry knowledge. The second interview was a longer technical interview with 2 managers testing more industry knowledge and analyzing data they displayed. The third interview was non technical with an employee to learn more about the culture and operations. The fourth interview was a very complex role playing assignment where the interviewers were actors and you have to role play through a long case study to find a solution. The fifth interview was with another hiring manager going over my background and asking situational questions. The sixth interview was with an hr rep and a traditional interview. Overall 6 interviews with 8 people over 3 months.

      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Lutron Electronics (Austin, TX)

      Interview

The first interview was okay, by phone, basic questions (including my GPA in college, according to the recluter they don’t hire people under 3.0 GPA) Then the second round it was an interview by teams with the plant manager. I remember in the interview he wasn’t even remember what was the position that was applying! In the interview I explained into my professional experience, basic questions. For the third round, the HR person sent me an email asking me for 3-4 hours for the interview, I sent him the dates, 1 weeks later I saw that he never responded, I sent it again with my new possible dates and he finally set the 3-4 interview. Finally the interview day come and I connected to teams, oh surprise! They didn’t connect!!!! I sent emails asking if they canceled and nothing! 40 mins connected and finally he called apologizing and telling that they canceled but his team never sent me the cancellation. I set the interview a week later after the incident, and that week I received like 10 emails and text messages, requesting my college and Masters transcripts, complete assignments on the company portal, etc. to send it before my interview!

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics (Coopersburg, PA) in Feb 2023

      Interview

First round which was an hour, I met with one person and briefly went over my resume. After that we dove straight into technical questions and did that pretty much the entire time. They left about 10 minutes for questions. The second round was 2 hours, and I met with 2 people for the first hour and half to do 3 more technical questions. They didn't care for resume or background. Then after that I met with another person and I just asked questions about the company and position. Overall it was a fairly difficult interview especially for an entry level position.
