I applied online. I interviewed at Luxoft in Jun 2024
Interview
First Hr interview then the coding test and then a technical interview.
Hr interview was fine. I also completed the coding test successfully. Weird things happen in the technical interview
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Well, the technical interview was not a technical interview, it was again a coding test that you have to perform by sharing your screen. I had this with an Indian guy. He did not ask any technical questions related to the job. When I finished the coding tasks, he asked me for how much salary I applied for this job and the living expenses such as rent and bills, etc. However, these questions should not be asked in the technical interview. This was wrong. The salary-related things were already discussed in the Hr interview. It was like that he was confirming that I was not getting a better offer than him. This is ridiculous.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Luxoft (Poznań, Greater Poland) in Mar 2025
Interview
I recently applied for a Frontend Engineer position and went through an online coding test as part of the screening process. Unfortunately, the coding environment provided was extremely basic – similar to Notepad – without any syntax highlighting, error detection, or formatting tools like Prettier.
During the assessment, I encountered a minor issue with a closing tag, which was difficult to spot without any visual cues or editor support. As a result, I spent extra time identifying the mistake and missed the deadline by just two minutes. I reached out to request a second chance, explaining the situation, but the HR response was quite cold and dismissive, simply stating that they could not send a second assessment.
While I understand the importance of time management in coding challenges, the lack of basic support in the assessment tool felt unfair. As a developer, working with completely bare environments like this is uncommon and does not accurately reflect real-world development scenarios. A more supportive assessment tool or at least a bit of understanding from the HR team would have made a difference.
I believe that improving the assessment process and offering a more reasonable response to minor delays would create a much better candidate experience.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at Luxoft (Ciudad de Mexico) in Jan 2025
