I applied to Lyft online after seeing the posting advertised on various job posting sites. I was extremely excited to see that the recruiting team got back to me the very next day asking to setup an interview. I responded the same day and we locked in a date. My interview was scheduled for 12pm and after about 7-8 minutes, I sent an email asking if we were still connecting, as I did not hear from her. The recruiter immediately responded and stated that she just left me a voicemail and asked if we needed to reschedule. I was surprised as I had been waiting for her to call me. I let her know that I was still available and that I did not receive a call from her and provided my phone number once again. I never heard back.
I sent her two emails after this to confirm if we were going to connect and I heard back from her the next day, where she stated that she "must've dialed the wrong number".
So we rescheduled to speak in a few days. Twenty minutes before my scheduled interview time, I receive an email from the recruiter that she is in a meeting that is running over and will need to reschedule. I send her additional availability, as requested and 4 days later she send me a note that she spoke to the hiring manager and they are going in another direction.
This was a complete waste of my time. As an HR professional, I know how important the candidate experience is and this was so unprofessional. As the recruiter, I would've been more thoughtful in my response to the candidate given that this person had already rescheduled the interview TWICE! At least provide more than two lines saying we are moving in a different direction, especially since I didn't even have the opportunity talk through my experience, skill set, etc.
Horrible experience.
