The day I signed up to be a driver at work I got an email right away to fill out some information and set up a time to meet with a mentor. The very same day an hour later I got out to the parking lot, got in the car, and selected in the app to meet with my mentor. I drove about 20 minutes in dc traffic to get on location where I met Dirk. He gave first thanked me for coming out to meet with him with a fist bump (it was a down poor outside), then gave me a brief yet informative summary about lyft (where they started, who started it, etc.) He then asked me where did I heard about lyft and this opportunity? (An Online ad if you were wondering.) Afterwards it was a very simple process of a car check, picture of you and your car, and a picture of your insurance information. You will give a "practice lyft" where you drive your mentor to a location so they can evaluate your driving and how you handle a passenger. General questions about yourself and explained how offering little perks to your passengers (offer waterbottles, mints, music, etc.) After the brief drive we parted ways and a day later i got a call from Lyfts HR for updated insurance information (mine was expired by a month). I sent information needed and 2 days later i got a text and email congratulating me on becoming an active lyft driver.
