Applied online and received a call from the hiring manager. After a 2 minute conversation was asked for an on-site interview. After some hesitiation I agreed to come on-site a few weeks later. The group is based in a non-descript building remote from the main MITRE campus (where you actually want to be). I met with HR, the hiring manager, gave a presentation, and interviewed with the group via VTC and tele-conn. They couldn't quite get the VTC to work right and it dropped off while talking to the team members, making the experience a bit awkward. High-tech company can't handle high tech devices. Check.
No difficult questions, just talking to your resume and listening to them talk about MITRE and their mission.
Finally, after two weeks I got a snail mail rejection letter. Snail mail??? I haven't gotten one of those in over a decade. I guess they're still stuck in the 80s and 90s.
