I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Macy's in Oct 2011
Interview
Macy's came to recruit at my school where the company held 1:1 interviews. The interview consisted of a coaching exercise and a behavioral interview. Then for second round you were asked to complete some online assessments for retail math, personality, etc. The second round interview lasted 2 days. The first day was informational and the second day included a group presentation and 1:1 interviews.
Macy's did a great job with the recruiting process. Also, what stuck out most throughout the interviewing process was how excited all their employees were about their jobs as well as Macy's as a company. It seemed to have a great work environment.
The interview process was lengthy but very conversational. I think there were 3-5 rounds. There was also a technical interview for your specific function that you took online in a closed browser.
It was easy. Just be yourself and don’t overthink it. First was a 15 min screening call over the phone. Then a 45 min zoom call with another individual. Questions related to past experience and how you deal with certain situations.
There were 3 rounds. The first is just an hr screening. You then have to take 2 exams for the second round. After the exams there is one final round. The process was very straightforward.
