I applied online through the macysjobs site on a Wednesday, got an email inviting me to interview that Friday. I couldn't schedule an immediate interview, since the only available appointments were a week away. I opted to interview the next Wednesday. However, the manager personally called me on Tuesday to ask me to come in since she'd be out of town on the originally scheduled day. I arrived and we sat in a quiet corner to complete the interview. She asked the standard interview questions (ie: why do you want to work here? Describe a time when you worked with a difficult customer.) In the end, however, I think she felt that I wasn't a good fit due to lack of commissioned sale experience.
