An internal recruiter IM'ed me on Linkedin saying she would love to talk to me about upcoming positions in Folsom. I didn't see it until that night, and I IM'ed her back saying I'll be happy to talk to her. So the day morning at 9:00 AM, she calls. I was driving and was a little surprised. But I said hello and asked how was she.
Then we got disconnected.
I pulled off, and tried calling her. No answer and mailbox was full. So I texted her. Still no answer. I immediately went to a Starbucks, and turned on my laptop and saw that she IM'ed me on Linkedin at 7:59 AM saying she would call me in an hour. I IM'ed her back, and she never responded.
Since she never return my phone call, text, or IM, I think she hung up on me! I guess she wasn't happy that I wasn't prepared at 9:00 am to talk, even though she only IM'ed me (on Linkedin) an hour earlier!
I guess the lesson learn to have the Linkedin App on my phone. At the same time, I think it was unreasonable to expect someone to always check their Linkedin account every hour, and extremely unprofessional to hang up during an interview (although in this case, we just at the hellos when she did it.)
