I applied and quickly was scheduled for a phone screening with an internal HR recruiter. The screening did not go well. The interviewer was vague when asked about career path options and provided a "canned" response regarding employee freedom to choose their path. I asked about the potential of managers attempting to restrict employee transfer. Instead of addressing the issue I asked about she talked about employees falling short of performance requirements and how HR and the manager will help them reach requirements. I viewed this as a red flag that Marathon takes a "preserve the heirarchy" approach with issues between different levels of management. I did not get a second interview, but this does not seem like a desirable company to work for, so I was not concerned.
