I recently went through the interview process for a luxury PR role with Marriott International. Over the course of three/four interviews, we discussed various aspects of the role and my qualifications; however, there was no conversation regarding compensation. After these rounds, I was surprised to receive a formal rejection without any constructive feedback on how I could improve or what may have led to their decision. I also noticed that the role continues to be advertised on LinkedIn, which adds to my confusion about their hiring process.
While I appreciate the opportunity to engage with Marriott International and understand that not every candidate will be the right fit for every role, the lack of communication about wages and constructive feedback was disappointing. For those considering applying to this company, I recommend ensuring clear communication about all aspects of the role, including compensation, early in the interview process. This experience has highlighted the importance of transparency and feedback in the hiring process, which I believe benefits both the company and potential employees.
