I had an interview with the recruiter (talent advisor), manager of the role, the 2up manager of the role, as well as the final interview with an HRBP the role would help to support over the course of 2 months. The overall interview process and questions were nothing out of the ordinary; situation, task, action, results. Following what would be the final interview with the HRBP, I followed up with the recruiter 7 business days later as I had not heard back. The recruiter stated that I was still in contention for the role, however that was also an internal candidate considered a final contender as well, and that I would hear more the following week.
I never heard back from any at McKesson following that interview.
I completely understand that there will always be other candidates who are more qualified for whatever reason, however my personal belief is that when a candidate goes through 3+ interviews, it is the recruiters responsibility to follow up with candidates, at the very least with a personal email outlining why they were not chosen. I think leaving candidates with no feedback is unprofessional and tells a candidate a lot about the culture of the organization.
