McKinsey (QuantumBlack AI) – Internship Selection Process (Jan–Jun 2026) This was an on-campus hiring for a 6-month Data Science intern role. 1️⃣ Online Test (from Room) One small ML task: train a simple linear regression model in Python. One small sorting question (basic DSA). Overall very easy. After this test, 24 students were selected for interviews. 2️⃣ Round 1 Interview They asked only about your ML projects and internships from your resume. Nothing outside ML. From here, 14 students were selected for the next round. 3️⃣ Round 2 Interview Much deeper ML questions. More technical and detailed discussion on models, data, and your past work. After this, 7 students moved to the final round. 4️⃣ Final HR Round Questions on your resume, your motivation, and one or two guesstimate questions. Very simple and friendly round. Finally, 4 students were selected for the internship. Important Observation They did not care about CGPA. They mainly selected students who had done internships at big, well-known companies. The brand name on your resume mattered a lot.
