I applied online. I interviewed at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
Interview
Had an initial round interview with HR. I didnt end up getting the position, but they were pretty quick and thorough, asking me about my resume and some basic questions related to the job. They did provide surprisingly good feedback after the interview, which was a plus.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York, NY) in Feb 2022
Interview
Originally applied for a Project Coordinator role with one of the lab teams. Had a phone screening with a member of the team who was very vague and kept mentioning that I was being considered for other "junior level technician roles". This confused me, but I was assured that I was still being considered for the Project Coordinator role. I was also told that an in-person interview would follow "roughly two weeks from the phone screening". I do not live in New York, so I told the interviewer my availability and waited for a response.
A few weeks later, I was contacted after reaching out three times trying to figure out what was going on. At this point, the date that had been thrown around for my in person interview had come and gone. I effectively planned a 5 hour trip to NYC for no reason. When I finally was contacted, it was for a follow up interview for the junior level technician position that had been mentioned to me in passing during my phone screening. At this point, I was already really frustrated with the lack of responsiveness and lack of clear structure to the process, but I was still interested in the team, so I asked for the role's budget and expressed my concerns regarding the pay and qualification gap between the two positions. I did not receive a response for three more weeks, and when I finally did, I was told it was "too early in the process" to disclose budget information to me. How do you justify not even disclosing salary to me after over SIX WEEKS of waiting around and having the job title i'm being interviewed for switched with no real mention of it? I immediately withdrew my application. Shame on the Integrated Genomics Operation for their lack of professionalism in regards to new applicants.

Interview
Two managers went back and forth asking me questions. Then I met with an existing project coordinator who seemed nervous and probably had never interviewed anyone before. I was there for almost 2 hours. Interview was... interesting. Somewhat laid back. I was still interested in the job afterwards, however, I later learned that they hired a director's niece who just got out of college and had no experience. I had already been working at Memorial Sloan Kettering for 8 years, mind you. I found that very unprofessional and sneaky.

Question 1
Why is a manhole round? Yes, that was one of the questions. Totally get that they wanted 'think outside the box' questions and answers but I found it very strange. "If you could only invite one person to dinner, who would it be"
