I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Menards (Fort Wayne, IN) in Sep 2014
Interview
They asked me about my experience in paint and why would I contribute to the team. They also asked if there was any department I specifically wanted to work in, I said yes; it was the paint department because I love dealing with paint and customers help with interior and exterior home projects.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Menards (Indianapolis, IN) in Oct 2016
Interview
Very easy and laid back interview. Basic interview questions. If you get called for an interview, as long as you go in there and act like you have some sense you will get the job. One thing to keep in mind... if you want full time, don't tell them you are in school. Weird company policy to not hire college student as full time employees.
I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Menards (Indianapolis, IN) in Mar 2016
Interview
Pretty quick process overall. Come into the store to fill out a job application. Handed it in with a resume. Got a call about a week later. Interview took about 20 minutes. Very quick and professional.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Menards (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2014
Interview
It is pretty laid back.you talk to the HR and she asks your general questions about yourself. Sometimes you will have the store manager sit in on the interview also. Most of the time people will get hired right on the spot if the interviewers like them. Then you go to get a drug test and you most likely will be starting in the next couple days. Pretty fast process overall. It's retail but not the worst retail job you can get.
