The interview process was highly disappointing. I was highly disappointed in how the interview was conducted. Prior to the interview, I was called by the hiring manager to verify I was interested in the position because I was overqualified. I explained that I was interested in the position because I was changing industries and was new to health care. I said I would love the opportunity to interview. My interview was horrible and the lack of skills exhibited made me not want to work for the company. My interviewers explained the position, said my resume was impressive, asked a few questions about my CPA plans.. and went "Do you have any questions?" The interview would have been over in 15 min flat, thankfully I had prepared typed out questions. I hadn't said anything to leave a bad taste. I was on time, professionally dressed, brought a report with work experience. Yet, I was dismissed before the interview began. It was greatly apparent they had no interest interviewing me and it was a waste of BOTH our time. If your going to ask a candidate to come into an interview, make the effort to INTERVIEW the candidate. Lets compare this to my experience with interviews at Barns Jewish. I was provided a phone interview where I was highly screened, in-depth reference check, and a very professional and detailed interview that lasted over an hour. This type of professionalism is worth my time. I will hesitate to apply to Mercy again.
