Initial contact was to set up a phone screen. The phone screen lasted ~30 minutes and was technical in nature. (e.g. "What is the purpose of applying a back-gate bias on a MOS transistor? Does it increase or decrease Vt? For an n-channel device, would the back-gate bias be positive or negative?") After the phone screen, there was no contact for about a month, so I wrote off the position and moved on. Then I got a request to come in for an on-site interview. The on-site interview lasted about 5.5 hours and was a series of one-on-one interviews, starting with the HR recruiter ("What kind of salary are you looking for? When would you be available?") and ending with the second-level manager for whom I'd be working. Interview was mostly technical, with some behavioral questions thrown in. People seemed friendly to me and to each other, which hasn't always been the case in my interviews.
