      Associate Director Interview

      Jul 9, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Milken Institute

      Interview

Phone screen with Hiring Manager then half-day panel with several Senior Staff members. I was GHOSTED. After investing time and energy I didn't get a status update. Totally unprofessional. Eventually someone's secretary (many weeks later) got back to me, not even HR.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Milken Institute (Santa Monica, CA)

      Interview

5 interviews, including final 2 in person. All were conducted by team members/peers/hiring manager. HR was never involved. After this months long process I was completely ghosted. No rejection email, no call, just nothing. The lack of disrepect from an organization like this was astounding and I caution others not to waste their energy.

They stick to a script of 30+ basic interview questions that do no feel job/task specific.

      Associate Director Interview

      Feb 20, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Milken Institute

      Interview

Phone Interview followed by an extensive face to face interview with key department staff. Interviewers were very nice overall but I noticed that there was a slight disconnect between the person who would serve as my direct supervisor and his/her boss. I.e. The direct supervisor had a specific understanding of the department needs and could accurately access whether or not my skill sets were relevant to the position. His/Her boss only had a broad understanding of the org as a whole and how the department that was hiring fit into the "big picture" however he/she failed to have enough expertise in the specific department that was hiring to ask relevant questions which caused some confusion.
