The recruiter reached out over email for a "Customer Success Manager" opening at MongoDB. I scheduled the call with her, which I got only after a week. The call was just 15-20 min, where she questioned, or more like took answers from me with mostly one-word answers for the questions that she asked, like, "So you worked xx for so many years?"
I asked her a few questions about the role and how it is going to be. She couldn't answer any of them, for everything she said the HM would be a better person to answer this question even though the questions were very basic about the role.
She sounded very positive and told me the next steps in the interview rounds and mentioned she would get back to me on Monday (I had the recruiter call on Friday).
Fast forward Monday morning, I get an automated email from MongoDB for a rejection for a "Senior Customer Success Manager" role. I never applied for that role, nor did the recruiter mention it anywhere in the email or during the call. I followed up with her for an update, but unfortunately, she ghosted me as usual.
I wasted 2 weeks of time studying MongoDB, playing with their tools by creating an account, and spending so much time in this all for a role that I never applied for.
