I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (Glasgow, Scotland) in Oct 2018
Interview
Company Specific questions and Cover Letter
Online Tests - Hardest Part of the Process - and the most important (Numerical, Deductive Reasoning, Situation Judgement) - Practicee!
Telephone Interview - Little probing, follows a strength based interview style - it is up to you to mention how a specific skill relates to your experience, they will not ask about your experience - so link back to this as much as possible .
Assessment Centre - Took about 4/5 hours, (My interview was in Glasgow - Everyone else seemed to be from the local unis)
1. Had another strength based interview (2 interviewers) - same as telephone though took a bit longer (very relaxed interview)
2. Followed by a case study interview - read a text and say how you would reacte to a situation E.g A new process is implemented?A new opportunity to work somewhere else in the business what would you do? - Intitally talk about what you would do (for about 10 minutes - 4 scenarios) then go onto to some more specific questions - thinking is you have to link back to the 'company values' again try and use examples of your own experience (Again relaxed interview - 2 interviewers)
3.Office Tour
4. Group based exercise, everyone reads the same text (10 minutes for reading) and then must discuss as a group. In this process you are observed by about 4 indivigilators - you can ask them 'business specific questions' as they are part of exercise - they represent heads of different business areas. Then you go onto present your findings... (I found this the hardest part of the process - a combination of a long day and just an inability to focus on the info - and subsequently failed at this hurdle).
Anyway Goodluck! Also, frustratingly (I spent ages researching) you need to know barely any company specific info!

Was very nice. They show you the building between rounds of interviews. First is a group interview, and then two individual interviews. The people are nice as well, and very friendly.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Morgan Stanley (New York, NY) in Feb 2026
Interview
Simple and straightforward and something you can take with you after. I hdid a lot of prep, and believe it is important to do so even until the morning of. It is also important to know about the firm and be yourself.
