I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Mount Sinai Health System (New York, NY) in Apr 2012
Interview
I was contacted by the office manager of the Chairman of the Division and an interview date and time were set up. I was interviewed by three people: Chairman of the Division, Director of the Division and Manager. They wanted to know the usual interview things: experience, strengths and weaknesses, most challenging work situation in my career; how I would describe myself, career goals, how flexible I am with scheduling, team work etc.

Question 1
Where do I see myself in 5 years from now, in my career?
Several lengthy steps in the interview process. Opinion: questionable business practices within the network. Why shut down an emergency room? I suggest looking at other health systems positions in the area.

Question 1
Questions were situational if X happened how would you handle it? How to deal with difficult patients?
Quick and to the point. The team coordinated multiple interviews in a day, and escorted me from one to another. Most interviewers did a lot of talking, and didn’t ask many questions.
