I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NIH
Interview
Very individualized. I reached out to some PIs and they replied offering a zoom meeting. Most were about 30-45 minutes long. Usually stared out by explaining what I was looking for and my previous experience and then they would tell me about their lab and the projects they were working on
Like a normal one. Describe your research, PI introduce his research. Q and A about my research and his research. And I think that is all I can remember from my interview.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at NIH (Bethesda, MD) in Aug 2015
Interview
If you have skills they need in the lab, they will come and look for you. The process was pretty lay back for me. since they needed my skills are their lab. So they asked some general questions "what makes you chose (your degree)", how many hours have you done(_), then they go on and introduce the campus and the opportunities around NIH. Since I already knew that they need me ahead, so the process was just a run through.
