I applied for this job located near Frankfurt while living abroad. I first had a phone interview scheduled with the Service Desk manager which took around 30 minutes. After passing the initial phone interview I was invited to Germany (flight and hotel paid by the company) to meet the management/HR for a personal interview, in addition to getting to see the offices and spend half a day shadowing with an employee, to see what the job exactly consisted of. This was the first time ever I went for a trial day and I thought it was a great idea to get a feeling what the job, atmosphere and colleagues are like! I would recommend more companies to do the same! The personal interview was with the manager, team leader and HR representative, it took roughly about an hour and I didn't find it difficult. Just a couple of days after returning home I got an offer from them which I accepted. The company was flexible with my starting date, so the whole process took, from when I applied for the job until I actually started the job, about 5 months.
