ASIC Physical Design Engineer (Hardware Engineer) Interview

      Nov 8, 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Santa Clara, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at NVIDIA (Santa Clara, CA) in Nov 2013

      Interview

2 Screenings : 1 onsite screen for 1.5 hours at Santa Clara Office. 1 phone interview for 1 hour. 5 hours of onsite. 5 interviews with physical design team. All the rounds were based on one single topic : Satic Timing Analysis. 4 rounds were ok, they asked different questions in STA to check my basics. 1 round was very difficult...that guy was the senior principal engineer. He said he was the consultant for all the groups in backend design. His questions were very tough. He tested my thinking, he wasn't looking for answers.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1
