Recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn. I did an initial phone call with her to discuss my background, and it was nice that she didn't require a resume from me until they knew the hiring manager would want to talk with me. They set up a call with the hiring manager, but when the time rolled around for the call ... nothing. Then I get a call from the recruiter about 15-minutes into the 30-minute window I set aside saying the hiring manager was stuck in a meeting and has to reschedule. That's OK. I've been there. When we finally did talk, it was obvious she hadn't even looked at my resume. Again, I can deal with that, and I thought the conversation went fairly well, given that it ended with her telling me that the recruiter would be in touch to set up a next-step culture fit call with a team member. I was excited. But two days later I hear from the recruiter saying that they're going with other candidates. What a buzz kill that was. If I wasn't what the hiring manager was looking for, fine. But, please, be prepared and up front with me.
