First stage was a basic phone call screen with HR. They ask about your background and resume. Then they schedule you for multiple rounds of in person interviews for a similar role in several different departments. You may have applied for a role with a specific dept but they'll bring you in and find that you are actually meeting with additional depts that are interested. (The admin aide role is very similar in most of the academic depts).

Question 1
Pretty straightforward but can get tricky prioritizing which dept you want to join because HR will stop considering you for the ones that are not your top choice even if you are on the fence.
I applied online. I interviewed at NYU (New York University)
Interview
It was two rounds of interviews, one with HR and one with the team you’ll be working with. Overall, it was very fair. The first was over the phone and the other was conducted by zoom.
The interview process was overall very fast paced and efficient. A lot of emailing and some HR phone calls. Usually 3 rounds of interviews with different people. Mostly online through Zoom or phone calls. They have you do a few online assessments in basic Word, Excel, Grammar etc but those tests are both easy and quite annoying. The system is very old.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NYU (New York University)
Interview
There are typically 3 interview rounds: hr pre screen, meeting with the hiring manager and an hr rep, followed by a final panel interview with cross functional team members. If you move to the 2nd round, the time between the 2nd and 3 round sometimes takes long or even after the 3rd round it can take a while to hear back.
