I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NYU (New York University) (New York, NY) in Nov 2021
Interview
The interview process overall was good. I applied for an administrative role in the art history department, was invited to do a phone interview the following week, then had zoom interviews with the dept manager and chair in the two weeks following. It was easy to communicate and coordinate with them, and they all seemed invested in getting to know me as a candidate/potential colleague. By the time I had their final decision, about one month had passed - a very quick process in my experience. I will also say they invited me to interview even though I didn't have direct experience (I'm entry level) based on what I wrote in my cover letter, so if you're reading this know your letter can make the difference!

Question 1
What interests you about this position? What is your relevant experience with academic advising and working with students?
I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at NYU (New York University) (New York, NY) in Nov 2025
Interview
I had a 20 minute screen call with HR, then a 45 minute zoom with the team I would be working on (2 people), followed by a 6-hour on-campus interview where I met with 4 people in other departments who collaborate with this team. I had to give a presentation (unpaid labor).
Importantly - I did not receive a call back after my final round. After reaching out to the hiring manager, I was told that the hiring team cannot reach out to applicants who did not receive an offer until the selected individual starts.

Question 1
What would you need to be successful in this role?
I applied online. I interviewed at NYU (New York University) in Aug 2025
Interview
The screening process was quick. Had multiple interviews with the hiring manger and another administrator. Over Zoom, the hiring manager kept their head down and not visible on screen, seemingly writing and never looking up. For both interviews, my past experience nor resume was never addressed and questions were asked as if my resume was never read.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NYU (New York University) (New York, NY) in May 2023
Interview
I applied online and received an email about scheduling a call with an HR recruiter two weeks later. The HR recruiter asked basic questions about my background, skills, and career aspirations. I met with the hiring manager via Zoom the following week.
