I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Netflix (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2018
Interview
There are several rounds of interviews if you're in the running for a position. I had an phone interview first with someone from the Talent Acquisition (aka HR) team to see if my experience matched up. Then a video conference with someone from the team hiring. I then had an in-person meeting with (3) different people, after that another round of in-person meets with (4) people. The whole process is really about meeting people you would be interacting with (not all from your exact team) and getting a real sense of the job and culture...

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Netflix (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2019
Interview
The interview process was quite extensive. Round 1 was with Talent Acquisitions . Round 2 was 1.5hr interview with (3) separate people in 30min increments. Round 3 was an meeting with someone from HR. Round 4 was another 1.5hr interview - this time in person with (3) separate people in 30min increments. I will say that the talent acquisition rep was excellent, very communicative and stayed in touch until the very end. While it was a long process i enjoyed meeting everyone and felt that I was getting a good sense of the cultural and the job in the process.
