First contact was from an in-house recruiter. She was professional and did the initial screen. Was invited to speak to hiring manager. The experience was an interesting flashback. Do you remember that teacher from grade school? Not the one who was a scholar, a progressive thinker, who inspired you to be a better person. But the one that was condescending, whose range went from surly to annoyed. That's the one! I was asked maybe 3 questions about my current company, not the role, and that was it. Even though I have years of relevant experience, I never was asked.
He then turned over to me, which I gave him the benefit of the doubt and asked questions to try to share the depth and breadth of my experience. Didn't help. His parting comment was about making sure the person they pick "fits with the team". And my parting comment is that I don't see this as a good company to work for, where not only you can contribute and be valued, but to learn and grow from others. Based on who they have representing them.
