I applied online. I interviewed at Network Rail (London, England) in Dec 2019
Interview
A 90 minutes interview held with two interviewers (senior economic planners), they asked competency and technical questions based on your experience as well as your economic analysis skills e.g. microeconomics knowledge, predicting and forecasting analysis, and where you've demonstrated certain skills in your previous work experience.
Competency questions: regarding presenting your work to an audience? changing the opinion of someone? when you delivered customer service? planned and organised a project? worked on a project as a team?

Nice friendly people who go over what you will be doing in the interview, which happened to be half an hour behavioural / job questions, half an hour technical questions on economics, then an hour presentation choosing between different scenarios for a few projects
